I have a few slots available for winter servicing. Winter takes a toll on brakes abd gears so it is a good idea to ensure that your bike is prepared. You can book in via my Facebook page of contact me via my website.
I have now got a card reader and can take all forms of payment.
I have added some new routes to my routes pages and will add more over the next few weeks. I have fixed quite a few “shed bikes” over the last few weeks as people are looking fro new ways to exercise. April bookings are filling up quickly so if yyou would like your bike done get in touch.
The bus service is now limited and solo exercise is recommended. I can offer a free check up and adjustment of brakes and gears to make sure bikes are roadwothy and reliable.
I am located near to City Hospital so staff can drop off on their way to work and pick up on their way home. I am just off Hucknall road, a 10 minute walk from the hospital.
Please book via my Facebook page or message me directly if you would like to book in. It is important that you have a specific appointment time so that I can see one customer at a time and ensure drop off and hand over are carried out safely.
I have a reasonable stock of spares and I am currently still able to get other spares within 24 hours. I will update my page if this changes.
As I already work from home I can continue to offer my services. However I have changed my way of working to ensure that I comply with government guidlines.
1. I can continue to communicate with customers by Facebook, telephone of text.
2. During pick up and drop off I will operate a timed appointment system to ensure I only see one customer at a time.
3. I will observe guidlines on social distancing during drop off and pick up and ensure bikes are wiped over with sanitising wipes before collection.
4. I will be taking electronic payments wherever possible.
5. Obviously I would like to maintain my business over the weeks or months to come. I will complete work for the cost of parts only for those also facing financial hardship and needing their bike for travel to work.
If there are any other measures you think I should take please let me know. As I am sure you are aware we are all adapting as we go and trying to get things right.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or requests.
Spring is nearly here apparently. Time to get your bike out of the shed and on the road. I don’t charge extra for cobweb removal!
Bike Sourcing Service
I will soon be adding a bike sourcing service to the service section of my page. I am currently finalising the details. If you are looking for a new bike but are wary of diving into Ebay to find one I can help. Contact me for details.
Completed a full service on a customers bike and fited a Wolf Tooth Roadlink. The customer can now run an 11 – 32 cassette with their SRAM Rival group set. A great way of getting extra low gears without changing to a triple chainring. You can see the completed job on my Facebook page.
Having spent 2 hours sitting in a traffic jam on Monday I was reminded just why I usually cycle everywhere. If you want to beat the traffic it my be time to get your bike out and start cycling to work. I have serviced an safety checked two bikes this week for people doing just that. If you want to stay dry(ish) I would recommend fiting full length mudgaurds to your bike. I cab source and fit mudguards as part of your service for an additional £5 labour plus the cost of the mudguards themselves. See my Facebook page for details.
We have appointments available for a winter service. Winter riding increases the wear and corrosion that your bike suffers. Salty, dirty roads mean that extra maintenance is required. Keep your bike running reliably into the spring with a thorough winter service. You can book via our face book page, our website or message me directly.
You can now book your service or repair slots directly through my Facebook page. I will confim any bookings by email and arrange delivery or collection with you. Search @cyclesherwood
Taking bookings for February work. Wednesdays are filling up but I do still have slots on a Friday.
I have also been adding routes to the route pages of my website. I have cycled all over Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and I am happy to take requests for route suggestions, especially if you are looking for quiet scenic routes to do more cycling.
